Observing The Feast Of Pentecost

This Scriptural Calendar study covers the timing of the Holy Feast Day of Pentecost.

The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) points to a new grain offering.  The last offering was on the Feast of First Fruits, so the new grain wouldn’t be ready until summer.

Most people say that we are to count fifty days after the Feast of First Fruits to reach the Feast of Pentecost.

They proclaim that counting seven sabbaths would be 49 days, and adding the 1 day of the Pentecost, would be the fifty that is commanded.

So they proclaim that is impossible with the lunisolar sabbaths, because it would span to the  3rd month, so there would be two New Moon Days; which would take more than 50 days to complete.

But the text is not saying that the Feast of Pentecost falls 50 days after the Feast of First fruits.

Leviticus 23:15 tells us to count seven completed Sabbaths.

‘And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you shall count for yourselves: seven completed Sabbaths.

Then Leviticus 23:16 says that now you are to count 50 additional days.

‘Until the morrow after the seventh Sabbath you count fifty days, then you shall bring a new grain offering to Yahuah.

It’s saying that on the day after the seven sabbaths are complete, start counting 50 days.

This causes the Feast of Pentecost to fall 9x days after the Feast of First Fruits. This would occur in summer, when the fields are ripe for harvest, to bring a new grain offering; which is exactly what is said.

So on the lunisolar calendar one can count seven sabbaths, which time frame would include two New Moons Days. This would be around 51 days.

Then after the seven sabbaths are complete, the next day, you start counting 50 days. This would include all types of days; New Moon day, works days and Sabbath days.

And you land on xxxx

Now match that with what Messiah said after visiting Jerusalem for Passover, while He was in Samaria, heading towards Galilee.

“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months, and the harvest comes’? See, I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields, for they are white for harvest – already! John 4:35

He is proclaiming that four months after the feast of Passover, the harvest of Pentecost would be ripe.

9x days after the Feast of First Fruits would be in the 4th month.
