This Scriptural Calendar study shows that the original design of the heavenly timepiece had a perfect 360-day solar cycle and 30-day lunar cycle.
One of the reasons that people proclaim that the lunisolar Sabbath calendar is wrong, is that they say that Scripture doesn’t tell us to insert a thirteenth month every few years. And that is true.
What they don’t seem to understand is that instructions for observing the Scriptural calendar were given before the cycles of the sun and moon were changed by Yah the Heavenly Father.
Before the 8th century BC, astronomers in many different cultures documents a 360-day solar cycle, and a 30-day lunar cycle. So there was perfect synchronicity and no need for a thirteenth month to keep the Spring Holy Feast Days in their proper season. But we don’t live in the perfect heavenly cycle anymore.
Why was the heavenly cycles of the sun and moon changed?
I think the Yah the Heavenly Father did this because He was weary of the Israelites perverting His Holy Feast Days and Sabbaths. Changing the calendar caused them to not be able to simply count 30 days to know that a new month had started.
We see Yah’s anger with the way that they profaned His Holy Feast Days and Sabbaths in these verses:
Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day? Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath. Nehemiah 13:17-18
Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Isaiah 1:13-15
And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand. I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts. Hosea 2:10-11
I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Amos 5:21-22
The challenge for us is that the Scriptural instructions for determining the year, months, and Sabbaths; were written before the change in the heavenly cycles.
Explanations like the Enoch 360-day calendar seem to fit with the old heavenly cycle, but there are five extra days in the 365-day solar cycle.
Explanations of the lunisolar Sabbath calendar were also affected, requiring a 13th month every few years to keep the Holy Feast Days in the spring.
Ancient Astronomers validate a 360-day year before the 8th century BC and then they had to adjust their calendars to line up with the changes of the solar and lunar cycles.
Calendar research shows that 30 different cultures had the same calendar of 12 months with exactly 30 days per month and 360 days per year.
Dr. Immanuel Velikovsky in his book, Worlds in Collision, shows evidence that thirty cultures recorded a period of upheaval lasting about fifty years when the days of the month and days of the year were in flux before it settled down to what we have now–a year of ~365 1/4 days and a month of ~29 1/2 days.
The ancient Vedas of India showed a 360 day year in the Brahmanas and they record that the moon waxed for 15 days and waned for 15 days in a month. The Brahmanas also state that the sun moved north 180 days and moved south 180 days in a year. In a later period the Vedas record that the year was reformed to 365 1/4 days.
In ancient Persia, the calendar had 360 days; later, it was reformed to add 5 Gatha days to the year length.
The Sumerians had a 360 day year with months of 30 days, and the Babylonians adopted that Sumerian calendar.
At the beginning of the 7th century BC, Babylon added 5 days to the year length.
In ancient Assyria, the clay tablets from the royal library in Nineveh showed a 360 day year with 30 day months, and that the spring equinox always fell on Nisan 15.
In Ancient Egypt, the Canopus Decree and Ebers papyrus calendar had 30 day months and a 360 day year. The year change occurred in the 8th or 7th century BC according to Plutarch and the Book of Sothis, with 5 epagomena days added to the year length.
The Mayans of Mexico and Incas of Peru in Central and South America had a 360 day year calendar; later they added 5 1/4 days to the calendar.
Other cultures like China and Polynesia had 360 day calendars that they amended by adding 5 days to the year–China called their added 5 1/4 days, Khe-ying days.
The time of the sign to King Hezekiah seems to be when the change in the patterns of the sun and moon were changed.
The narrative of Hezekiah’s sickness and miraculous recovery is found in 2 Kings 20.
And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day? And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? 2 Kings 20:8-9
And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz. 2 Kings 20:10-11
In a full day we have 24 hours with each hour having 60 minutes. But in the hours of daylight, we have half this amount ~ 12 hours.
- 360 degree circle (on a sundial) divided by 12 hours of sunlight (average day) = 30 degrees per hour.
- 1/3rd of an hour (60 minutes) equals 20 minutes.
- 1/3rd of thirty degrees is ten degrees
- Ten degrees would therefore equal 20 minutes.
So when the shadow moved backwards 10 degrees, this added an extra 20 minutes per day. So who long does that add to a year?
- 20 minutes per day x 360 days = 7200 extra minutes per year.
- 7200 extra minutes per year / 60 minutes in an hour = 120 hours per year.
- 120 extra hours per year / 24 hours in a day = 5 days per year.
So over a year around 5 extra days had been added to the original 360 day year which now results in a year with 365.2422 days. This is what I believe to have caused all these nations to change their calendar as they were following a solar year according the what was grown in the fields. This quickly caused all the calendars to be out so much so that cultures had no choice but to revise them.
Dale W. Wong in his 2006 book, The Ancient 360 Day Year: What It Was And How It Changed calculated the year of Hezekiah’s sundial sign to be 713 BC; and he posits that Elohim actually moved the orbits of the heavenly bodies to accomplish this sign of moving ten degrees/steps backward on the sundial.
These Scriptures also describe changes in the rhythm of the heavenly bodies.
Joshua pointed to a time that the sun stopped.
Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel. Joshua 10:12-14
Isaiah 38:4-8 also affirms that the shadow of the sun was moved back by ten degrees.
Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city. And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken; Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
Habakkuk 3:11 points to the sun and moon standing still when Joshua fought against the Amorites.
The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.
The narrative of Noah points to a 360 day calendar
During the time of the flood Noah tells us that a 150 days started on the seventeenth day of the second month, and ended on the seventeenth day of the seventh month (Genesis 7:11,24 and 8:3-4).
In the six hundredth year of Noaḥ’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of the heavens were opened. Genesis 7:11
And the waters were mighty on the earth, one hundred and fifty days. Gen 7:24
And the waters receded steadily from the earth, and at the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters diminished. Genesis 8:3
And in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat. Genesis 8:4
150 days divided by 5 months = 30 days
30 days times 12 months = 360 days
The perfect, holy, Scriptural year is made up of 12 months, each comprising 30 days to make up a total of 360 days; the number of degrees in a circle.
Prophecy points to a 360-day calendar
Daniel, Paul and John all described the same thing, the antichrist Popes of Rome rising to power in 538 AD, after the Roman Empire collapsed, and the last Roman Emperor was removed in 476 AD.
The little horn of Daniel 7 who persecuted the saints for “a time and times and the dividing of time.” (360+720+180=1,260)
The period during which the holy city is trodden under foot by the Gentiles for “forty and two months” in Revelation 11. (42×30=1,260)
The period during which the two witnesses in Revelation 11 prophesy for “thousand two hundred and threescore days.”
Messiah’s saints escaping to the wilderness for “a time, and times, and half a time” in Revelation 12.
The reign of the antichrist sea beast for “forty and two months” in Revelation 13.
History unveils that these prophecies all point to the same 1,260 year time period from 538-1798 AD, during which the popes of Rome controlled the Roman beast kingdom.
The Scripture calendar pointed to a 360-day solar cycle.
In it is simply brilliance, the 360 degrees of the circle points to 360 days. Ideally the 12 months are laid out on a circle, each month representing 30 degrees, 30 days, to make up the 360 degrees and days.
Colossians 2 may point to it being restored in the future.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Colossians 2:16-17
Until then, it’s necessary to insert a 13th month every 2-3 years, to keep account for the imbalance of the 365.25 solar cycle and 29.5 day lunar cycle, and keep the spring Holy Feast Days in their proper season.
The prophecy in Ezekiel 4 to lay on his side for 390 days, confirms the 13th month.
Here’s a study that proves it out:http://www.creationcalendar.com/CalendarIssue/15-The13thMonthInEzekiel.pdf
Next, you’ll see that the enemy hid the true Scriptural Sabbath by causing Constantine, the Roman bishops and Jewish leaders, to promote Saturday as the Sabbath.

There is no justification whatsoever for a 13th month. The piece you are missing to the true solar calendar is the understanding of the Intercalary Days.
You need to look into the dead Sea scrolls. These clearly were left by the sons of Zadok the priests of Israel of whom it says in Ezekiel, never went astray. They kept the correct calendar
We must add a 30 day month (13th month) every third year, but how do we know when to add this 13th month? Is there an easy way to know which years are leap years?
